Metro Manila Subway Contract

In May 2022, Megawide – alongside Japanese joint venture partners Tokyo Construction Co., Ltd. (Tokyo Construction) and Tobishima Corporation – signed the Metro Manila Subway Contract Package 104 (CP-104) with the Department of Transportation (DOTr).

The Metro Manila Subway CP-104 has an estimated contract value of over Php 17 billion and involves the construction of the subway’s underground stations and connecting tunnels for Ortigas North and South.

GMCAC Shares Sale Agreement

In line with Megawide’s strategy for cycle-resiliency. scalability. and sustainable growth. the Company and GMR Airports International. B.V. (GAIBV) closed the transaction for Aboitiz InfraCapital. Inc.’s (AIC’s) acquisition of a 33.33 and 1/3% minus 1 share in GMR MEGAWIDE Cebu Airport Corporation (GMCAC) — concessionaire for the award-winning Mactan Cebu International Airport (MCIA) — for a total consideration of Php 9.5 billion.

The agreement is expected to fuel further developments for MCIA, and at the same time, open opportunities for Megawide to pursue more big-ticket infrastructure projects.

ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard

On January 20, 2023, the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD) held the 2022 ACGS Golden Arrow Awards at Sheraton Manila Hotel to recognize the top-performing Publicly Listed Companies (PLCs) in the Philippines based on the ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard (ACGS) 2021 results. Megawide Construction Corp. received 2 Golden Arrows for its 2021 ACGS Score.

Megawide assures our stakeholders and government bodies of our full compliance with pertinent laws and regulations as a publicly-listed company in the Philippines.

In June 2022. Megawide received an Omnibus Order from the Lapu-Lapu City Regional Trial Court. dismissing a case filed against the Officers and Directors of GMR-Megawide Cebu Airport Corporation (GMCAC). a subsidiary of Megawide. The Company has always taken the position that it is not in violation of the Anti-Dummy Law and that GMCAC operated MCIA in compliance with all applicable laws. rules. and regulations since the grant of the concession agreement beginning in 2014.
